Disney Road Trip

Before the kids, my cousin Kamillah and I used to travel somewhere close every year for a little get-together, usually to watch a sports game or run a race.  Then we had kids so we took a couple years off, but recently resumed and now bring our kids along with us.

This was our 2nd year running the Avengers race at Disneyland, this year opting for the 10K instead of the half marathon though.  Kamillah, her mom, and my Godson, Phoenix, flew into Vegas to make the drive out to Anaheim with us.  Having a husband working for Enterprise has its perks, and we got to ride out there in the luxury of a 2015 Suburban.

I also brought my mom to help with Claire.  We made good time and the kids were gems.  Honestly.  No meltdowns or tantrums, but also no nap, so we just went and checked into our hotel so we could rest.  We hung out for a bit and then had to walk to the Disneyland Hotel to pick up our race packets.  Claire had her first day of Minnie outfits on.

The park and surrounding area was all lit up in Christmas lights.  Which was weird considering it was like 80 degrees.  But enjoyable.  Our race was at 5:30 the next morning so we ordered in pizza for dinner and all got an early night.
