Trunk Or Treat

DP's company had a Trunk or Treat event for the kids on Thursday.  We had put off getting a costume for Claire because she changed her mind on a daily basis, plus we took her to the Halloween store a couple of times and she just ran around like a crazy person.  So before picking her up from school on Thursday, I ran over to Party City and snagged her a cute Spiderman (for girls) costume.  I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this up.

Anyway so I picked her up from school and told her I had a surprise for her in the car.  When she saw her costume, she literally squealed!  We had to go straight over to the Enterprise event so we stopped in a gas station parking lot to get her dressed.

Wine and Art Party

But first some BOOTD because Claire's picked out some interesting outfits lately.

Anyway, so I took my mom to "wine and paint" at Pizza Factory on Wednesday night.  The painting was actual really pretty.  It was only $25 and I love cherry blossoms.

It was fun, and I really enjoy the pizza.  Plus it turns out my mom and I are great artists.  Even with 2 for 1 beer specials!  Who knew?!

More Ice Skating

An update because Claire has made so much progress for only her second lesson.  Plus all children are adorable in snow hats.  Before we went in this week, Claire told me that when you feel like you're going to fall, you have to put your hands on your knees.  So when I saw her doing it I knew she was trying to balance.  It was so cute.

My mother in law invited me over for a girls' night, and I waited for DP to get home so I could go without the baby, but then forgot he has softball on Wednesdays.  So I took her.  It was a girl's night after all.  And her aunties plenty doted on her.

These Girls So Spoiled

My sister-in-law got the girls a bunch of Halloween swag.  With makeup.  So we went home with their treat bags and they had Jell-O for snack (Claire had a popsicle) and went to bed.  This was last weekend.  The next morning they got up, had showers, and got dressed in the matching shirts my parents brought back from their latest trip.  How did I get so lucky with these 3?  So then of course I took them out for lunch.

I am not having any kids this weekend and the weekend after that is my annual Halloween sleepover party for the big nieces/nephews. So it's nice to be enjoy the simple things with the girls for a change.

Julian's Reptile Party

Claire's buddy Julian has his fourth birthday party at the Dinosaur Exhibit of the Natural History Museum.  So needless to say we were super excited to attend.  Although it doesn't seem like it because she really didn't want to take any pictures beforehand.

I need to get this series of photos printed and framed, obviously.

Anyway, the party was really cool!  Claire got to dig for fossils and touch reptiles.  And visit with some family friends.  It's weird because I went to high school with these parents and now our kids attend the same parties and will grow up together.

Ice Skating Lessons

I enrolled Claire in ice skating for the fall.  My intent for her athletic career begins with skill development, so while team sports are our main objective, she needs to know how to swim, skate, and ride a bike first.  And hopefully not be into art or something.  (Which I think I can safely say won't be an option considering this is the kind of stuff she creates.)

And lucky for us Claire is a natural.  I have only taken her ice skating a couple of times, at a completely different rink, and I went around with her.  But her teacher said she is already showing improvement from the beginning of the lesson to the end.  Although I'm sure they say to that to everyone.  And they finish the lesson on a bumper.
